Good News, Everyone!

I'm excited to share the musical contributions of the wonderful Steve Krute, who has kindly re-scored DaggerToss with original music,
I really feel this adds a level of polish that was missing from my original design and helps to immerse the player in DaggerToss's quirky medieval Castle!

I'm very grateful for Steve's help with this project and so lucky to have found others interested in the world of game design to share ideas with!  Thank you millions :)

I'm experimenting with the level environment this week, and adding objects that the player can interact with  and break in each level,  this is most noticeable in level 1 but more will be added soon, I'm testing the waters here so expect some changes in future builds.

I've also completely re-designed our friendly ghost knight and added actual UI dialogue panels and text.

I always knew that I wanted a character who could act as a guide to the player and provide world building at the same time, but I had no idea what I wanted that character to say or do. I'm happy with the update to this character and excited to get some more player feedback on the latest build.

I've added a handy control panel to the title screen for a refresher on the controls, and squashed a number of pesky bugs that I hadn't noticed, including but not limited to :

  • a bug in level 5 that allowed the player to shoot the gate mechanism while standing beside the gate
  • a missing collider in level 6 that allowed the player to walk away from the boss altogether mid-battle
  • gate collider hit boxes not reading collisions
  • UI canvases appearing unreadable in certain aspect ratios

There is still a lot of work to do before I can say DaggerToss is "finished" but for now, It continues to be playable, even enjoyable.

Thank you for playing DaggerToss, and thank you for reading :)
